The American Pie Factory
1. Do you believe that the owners did a good job of market research?
the article didn't really give information about that but they seem confident in the company doing well so i guess. (the name doesn't match what they sell; that bothers me)
2. Do you feel as thought this business can be successful or are there too many sports bars and pizza places to go to?
i think that they will do if they offer good tasting food and amazing customer service but like other restaurants business might slow down some after being opened for a while.
3. With the economy, how can they make sure this business survives?
not getting themselves in too deep. they need to start small and as the economy changes make those changes along with it.
4. How would you market this business to possible customers? Give your best sales pitch!!
PARENTS; SUMMER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNNER! THE KIDS ARE PLAYING SPORTS AND AFTER GAMES THEY'RE READY TO EAT! saving money
1. Is this too extreme at this time in the recession?
i mean i think it's on the drastic side; but at least she won't have to worry about not being able to feed her children.
2. Do you or your family do any saving to this extreme? If so, What?
we don't use or bathrooms we have an outhouse as well as we are only allowed to shower once a week and we don't eat period
we are getting solar panels put on our roof to conserve energy (won't have an electric bill)
3. Do you think that eventually we will all have to save 50% or more of our income each month?
i think that eventually we might NEED to but in all reality people will still have bills to pay and will need that money to do so
4. What are other methods that you may know of to save more money?
turn the water off while brushing your teeth, take baths, using the bathroom if it's yellow let it mellow if its brown flush is down, turn off the lights when you're not in a room as well as any other appliances, don't eat out as much, save leftovers, by things on sale, walk if you can or car pull, etc

ENTREPRENEURSHiP
1. What are your thoughts on the comments on this article?
i think that Alan touches on some good points
2. Visit this blog and give your comments on what is said about entrepreneurship?
Two types of entrepreneurs exist: the “caught between a rock and a hard place” entrepreneur, and the serial entrepreneur. (Alan)
i agree with the statement, "there are two types of entrepreneurs". and basically i think what he is trying to say is that there are entrepreneurs that start up their own business; but unfortunately they don't know where to start or become lazy and the business goes down the drain...

LAKELAND Law enforcement arrest teams throughout Central Florida today served five search warrants and arrested up to 18 people related to a multi-million dollar retail theft ring and fencing operation involving health, beauty and cosmetic products and over-the-counter medicines, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Each of the suspects is being charged with one count of felony racketeering, which carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison, and one count of felony conspiracy to commit racketeering, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
“What started as a simple shoplifting investigation turned into the discovery of a far flung criminal conspiracy that counted on common street criminals to steal millions of dollars of merchandise to supply other criminals selling on the Internet and in flea markets. Because of our talented investigators and team work with multiple agencies, these thieves and criminal resellers will be going away to prison for a long, long time,” Sheriff Grady Judd said.
The arrests come at the end of a seven-month long investigation that began June 26 when Rita Maddox, currently in the Hillsborough County Jail, and Elisha Cordle of Dover were arrested by Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies for stealing about $4,500 in merchandise, mainly Oil of Olay products, from the Shepherd Road Publix in Lakeland, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The initial investigation into the retail theft revealed that the suspects were part of a larger organized criminal enterprise that operated in multiple jurisdictions.
The investigation further uncovered that the theft and fencing operation had been operating for about five years and is linked to retail loss statewide, the Sheriff's Office said.
· This article proves that retail theft is a serious crime; and if you get caught you will pay time. More and more retail theft is going on throughout the states and law enforcers are doing everything they can to try and prevent shoppers from stealing.
g. Why do you think people shoplift?
I think that people shoplift one because they want something but don’t have the money or want to spend the money to get it legally; therefore they shoplift. Also, I think that some do it for the “thrill”/ adrenaline rush or the fact that they like the thought that they are getting away with it.
h. What are the advantages for a retailers using source tagging?
Enables them to ensure solid in-stock positions
Maximize inventory turns
Reduce shoplifting losses
